Richard Kelly

Coach Kelly instructs the adapted Physical Education classes and the alternative learning center. In addition to teaching, Coach Kelly serves as a freshman baseball assistant coach and assistant varsity football coach.

Before coming to Mountain Brook, Coach Kelly was the Defensive Coordinator at Hueytown High School and Walker High School. Coach Kelly was the Offensive Coordinator and the head varsity basketball and Baseball coach at Greenville High School. Before Greenville, Coach Kelly served as an assistant football, basketball, and baseball coach at Spanish Fort High School. While at Spanish Fort, Coach Kelly was an assistant coach on the 2010 5A State Championship football team and the pitching coach for the 2010 & 2011 5A State Championship baseball teams. Coach Kelly began his baseball coaching career at Fairhope High School. He is originally from Mobile, Alabama where he graduated from UMS-Wright Preparatory School in 2001. While at UMS, he lettered in football and baseball and was a member of the 1999 State Championship baseball team.

Coach Kelly earned his B.S. from the University of Mobile where he lettered in baseball. He holds his M. Ed. from the University of South Alabama and his Ed. S. from the University of West Alabama. Coach Kelly and his wife, Megan, have a two beautiful children.
