The Mountain Brook Volleyball team ended a record setting 2019 season in impressive fashion sweeping the defending 7A champions 3-0 in the state championship match. This was the program's fourth state title since winning its first in 2014 and first under third year head coach Vickie Nichols. The Spartans titles were earned in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2019. The 2017 and 2018 seasons were successful seasons as well, falling just short of the championship match in the Final Four both years with a loss to the eventual state champions - McGill-Toolen.

The Spartans ended the season with a record breaking match win/loss total of 59-7. Their 59 wins included 50 sweeps of opponents a remarkable statistic and and evidence of the team's dominance throughout the season. During the regular season the team claimed regular season tournament titles in the Juanita Boddie, Rocky Top Classic (TN), Heff Strong, and Margaret Blaylock tournaments. In two other regular season tournaments the team finished strong with a quarterfinal finish at the Iron Man (Huntsville) quarterfinals and a loss in the championship match of the Over the Mountain tournament.

The post season included an area championship with sweeps of John Carroll and Vestavia Hills, a north super regional championship with a sweep of James Clemens, a 3-1 win vs. Hoover, and sweep of Bob Jones in the regional final. The state tournament included a sweep of Auburn in the Elite Eight, followed by a rematch and another 3-1 win vs. Hoover in the Final Four. The season concluded with a sweep of McGill-Toolen in the championship match.

MK Fowlkes and Ann Vandevelde were named to the All State Tournament team along with Grace Carr who was also named State Tournament MVP.

With the conclusion of the season, the post-season honors continue to highlight the Spartans. Grace Carr has been named as a candidate for Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year with the final results to be announced soon.
